Please pray for my friend Julie. I recieved this email about her yesterday.
Will you please pray for my friend, Julie Joehlin? I got a call from her husband last Thursday. Julie had lost partial vision in her right eye and was panicked. She ended up calling 911 and the emergency squad took her to MGH. Scott (her husband) was on his way home from Chicago and didn't want her to be alone. I went to the ER and they diagnosed her as having an occular (sp) migraine. This weekend, she didn't show improvement and by Sunday, she wasn't able to remember one of her boys' names. They took her back to the ER and admitted her. I was there yesterday and the doctor confirmed that she had had a stroke that has affected both sides of her brain. As far as outwardly effects, her right side is numb. They decided today to transfer her to OSU. Julie is young (30s) and they said this is highly unusual for someone her age. She has three boys (third grade, second grade and kindergarten). Her health state right now is confusion. I would describe it as being home "but the light is not on." I spent some time with her yesterday and was just sick by the time I left. I know there have been alot of advancements in stroke victims so I pray that her prognosis will allow her to be the mom she was just a few days ago. Julie's faith in God is strong. We prayed yesterday that He guide them in the path that will get her on the road to recovery - maybe that path was OSU. . . All morning, I have had a not so good feeling about this and I just want to get as many people to pray for her as possible. Also, I have prayed for Jared's mom. . .it is a times likes these we want to question - but at times like these, I guess we just pray that if it is His will, we will receive his comfort.
This is the latest update I have recieved about her.
I just spoke to Scott (8 p.m. on Tuesday). He told me that Julie arrived at OSU safe and sound. She had already seen three doctors and is schedule for an MRI tonight. The doctors are re-thinking her diagnosis of a stroke. They are looking into possibly MS but it is TOO EARLY TO REALLY TELL ANYTHING! The MRI will hopefully paint a clearer picture.Scott also said that Julie's numbness has increased, as well as her loss of sensation; however that can be from a very stressful day, too. The following are special notes to some of those I have emailed:Karen - Scott asked that you contact BJ. He said you would know who it is and how to contact.Kelly - Please tell Julie's Bible study teacher that she will not be there Thursday. Julie is ADAMENT that she be told. Scott said as goofy as it sounds to us, it is important to Julie.Jan - I talked to Linda and she will contact us with what the family will need after they figure it out.And to all - Prayer is powerful. . .and right now, Julie needs our prayers!
