Magic Ball

We went to cousin Oliver's birthday party yesterday. Boy, was it warm! The kids still had a great time. They rode little quads all over the yard. It was cute to see Chloe trying to drive one. On the invitation it said to bring your coats for an outside party! We sure didn't need our coats! We all were joking that we needed our swim suits instead! Where is Fall?!

After the party we went to my mom's to cool off a little bit and visit before coming home. The kids had white paper bags that they put their candy in from the pinata. Uncle John. What can I say. He showed Claire the invisible ball trick. You know, you pretend there is a ball and you can make it do all kinds of things and then land in your paper bag. You flick the bag to make a sound like the ball has landed in it. Claire was totally amazed by this simple trick. She talked about it all night. She really thinks there is a magic ball. She says John is amazing. She still thinks that Uncle Andrew doesn't know how it works! She wanted to show daddy the first thing when we got home. Joel was even fooled on the first try. She slept with the magic ball- since John let her take it home with her. Now, she is taking it with her to school. She can't understand why it doesn't work when Collin or Chloe are holding the bag. We had to break the news to her. I told her that it may not work at school. So, we told her the trick. I felt like we were telling her Santa wasn't real or something! She said that she would hold the bag and have her friends throw the ball into the bag. She took it pretty well. Thanks John for some fun memories and some cheap fun!
