Latest update on Julie

Hello again!Do I hear a JOY - I just talked to Scott (8:45 p.m. Thursday) and he said Julie is doing much better today. She is up and about. . .and has come a long way since Tuesday! The doctors are still running tests. They are still going with the diagnosis of a stroke; however, because it is highly unusual for a woman of her age to have this happen, they want to run everything imaginable!Scott did say that one test revealed she has a small hole in her heart. This condition affects about 30 percent of our population so it is nothing to be alarmed about. He said if conditions were right, it is possible that is where the clot originated from. As far as fixing the condition, the doctors told him there is no statistical data that shows it is better to have it fixed. If they should choose to do so, it would be done as an outpatient. The other option is "an aspirin a day." But it is not something they have to make an immediate decision about!Scott also said one doctor even hinted at the fact that Julie may be able to go home tomorrow. He said if anyone was planning on visiting to please call his cell phone to make sure they are still at OSU. His number is 361-3644.Friends, our God is an AWESOME God - let's keep praying that we continue to hear such good news about Julie!Amy SpringerPS - If Julie is released back into the "wilds of the world," we will probably want to meet with Scott to find out more about the needs of his family. I will keep you posted on that!
