Great Friendships

When I was going into 7th grade, my parents decided to send me to a Christian school. It was one of the hardest things for me and I resented it for a very long time. All of my siblings changed to Worthington Christian when they reached 7th grade as well, but no one took it as hard as me. Maybe because I was the first one. I didn't handle the change very well. The other kids knew it was coming so they had time to prepare.

Anyway. I know now what a privilege it was to attend Worthington Christian. I appreciate the Chistian education I recieved, but most of all I appreciate the friendships I developed there. I have known these girls for 20 years now. Amazing. I have been roommates with 2 of them. It is amazing they still talk to me! Trish and I have always kept in touch. I would say she is my best friend forever. I know we will always talk. I am so glad to have a friend like that.

I have lost contact with Megan and Kelly here and there, but hope that we can keep in touch now. We have been getting together for a 'Girls Night Out' monthly since April. It is so great to just have a night off and encourage each other. I really need that in my life. It was great to get together last night and end our evening praying for each other.

Megan is getting ready to leave for Zimbabwe next week. She will be working with a program called Farming God's Way for about a month and then she will be heading to an orphanage until December. If you think of her please pray for her as she heads to a country that is in turmoil right now. I know God is going to use her there. She is going alone, so I am praying that she will find companionship while she is there.

It is so rare in this day and age to see friendships last as long as those you mentioned. What a blessing!

What a beautiful blog, Jenny! It is a beautiful thing to keep friendships alive that have been there for a long time. God has had different paths for each of us and what a blessing to reconnect and recount all that he has done. Thank you for your kind prayers for companionship for me- what an insight! Bless you...

How fun, Jenny! I remember seeing pictures of you guys plastered all over your room at Grace, so it's kind of fun to see an updated one! You were always wondering "Will we always be friends?" I guess so! :)
