Shopping Mommies

Yesterday, the women in my mothering class from church had a planned shopping day at Easton. We left after church in 2 mini vans and headed to Easton. Most of us had never been there before! We decided to have lunch at Brio. I think we all enjoyed it. I decided to get a smaller lunch and ordered the Creme Brulee sampler for dessert. We all shared it, of course. There was a chocolate, orange and caramel flavored creme brulee. They were amazing! The chocolate was my fave.

After lunch we headed around to several stores. I ended up buying more things than I had planned, but I did get some great deals! I found a belt for Claire for only 2.99 at the Children's Place. I split a great deal on Truffles at Harry and David and only paid $6 for 12! (They are my favorite Truffle) I got a cute sandwich cutter at The Container Store for $2.99 also. It cuts the crust off the bread and also cuts the sandwich into 2 hearts. Perfect for Claire's lunches.

After shopping at Easton we headed over to Target. We could have stayed there all day. There were so many things there that I suddenly needed! I held back though and only spent $23 there. I think that is my alltime low there :) It felt weird to be shopping and hear a kid crying and be relieved that it wasn't my own! It was great.

We had talked about adding a movie into the day, but it was already 7:30! We stopped and ate at City Barbecue on the way home. We were the only customers there and the manager gave us all free dessert. I took mine home to Joel. His reward for watching the kids that day!

I finally got home around 9:30. Just in time for the Superbowl to be over. It was a perfectly planned day. I think everyone should have a 'day out' with friends. Honestly, I don't care to go shopping that much. I don't have the patience for it, especially if I have kids with me. I was really there to spend time with some friends and to walk around at a really cool shopping experience. I stay away from the department stores. That doesn't interest me at all. I do like going into little interesting shops to see what they have- if I am without children!
