Christmas is Over!

It feels good to have Christmas over, but also I feel a loss. It is weird how depressing sometimes it is to go back to everyday life. I like going to back to routine and now adding some new and exciting things in my life. It is exciting to be starting a new year.

First I want you to notice in the picture, our entertainment stand. A friend of mine had glued paper to the inside of the glass on theirs and I loved the idea. I copied her- but I give her all the credit. I found what I thought was the perfect paper for our house. I thought it would add a little decoration, plus hide what is inside the glass. The remotes still work throught the paper! I loved how it looked. Loved- past tense. I came home the other night and noticed some paper matching what I had put on the tv stand, in the trash. Crumpled up in the trash. Before I jumped to any conclusions, I ran to look at the tv stand. Sure enough. It was just glass, showing all the stuff inside. I was like, "Joel, what happened?" His response was simple, "Christmas is over." I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I just held my head in my hands and did a little of both. I spent a good 20 minutes measuring and taping that paper in there just right. Not to mention the $5 I spent on this wrapping paper. Aparently the flowers on the paper look like snowflakes to Joel. He didn't understand that I was acutally going to leave it up permanently! Isn't it sweet when your husband tries to help you out? I haven't taken the time yet to repaper the inside of my tv stand. But I will- I think it is a great idea.
My biggest project right now is MOPS. I will be coordinating a MOPS group at our church and our launch date is Feb. 1st. Please keep us in your prayers! I am doing things that totally outside my comfort zone. Public Speaking for one, leading devotions, praying in public, etc... It is going to be a growing experience. I will be participating in a skit at our church next week about MOPS. Ugh. I have butterflies just thinking about it. We still need a Moppets leader. That is our biggest need right now. Thanks for your prayers!

Just when I think Luke and I are doing fine in the Communication Department, something like you shared happens to us. Oh, well, it could have easily been one of the kids doing it while in a ripping mood (or maybe mine are the only ones who get in ripping moods).

Sorry about that - I was there when you put it on and I know it took a while. I thought you were going to say Collin ripped it out since he was trying to do it that entire day. I guess it was destined to be removed.
