The Toothfairy Cometh

Last weekend Claire bit into a banana and declared that her tooth hurt. Joel checked it out and discovered that she did indeed have a loose tooth. All weekend about every 5 minutes, Claire was running to the mirror to check out her loose tooth. She was constantly asking when is it going to come out? Why can't we just pull it out?

When Claire came home from school on Monday she had her little tooth in an envelope. I can't believe how fast it all happened. I feel a little sad about her tooth being gone. It means my little baby is growing up and she will soon have adult teeth in her mouth. She looks very cute with the little space in her lower teeth. I am glad it seemed to happen so fast though- I was getting tired of explaining how to wait for it to come out.

Claire instantly started talking about putting her tooth under her pillow and about the tooth fairy. I have never mentioned a tooth fairy. How does she know one exists? I guess from her friends etc... The tooth fairy fell asleep and almost didn't make the switch. She was very pleased to find a half dollar under her pillow.

Now a few times a day she wants to know when she is going to get another loose tooth. We explain to her that she needs some teeth to eat with!

Hoo hoo hoo! Are you still gonna be putting out the big bucks when it is Chloe's last tooth? I was hit with the reality that we were too poor to play tooth fairy, so we send the teeth next door to be put under pillows for the Wayne fairy.
