We finally had our first combine ride this year. It has been a slow year of getting started with the harvest. Tuesday night Claire's soccer practice was cancelled, so we headed out to the field to visit daddy. Last year, it seemed we rode with Joel daily. Chloe was excited, but scared. She doesn't remember last year! Claire and Collin sure do. They like to watch the beans coming into the bin and also being unloaded from the bin through the little window. Claire was so concerned that it was going to get too full. She wants to know how it all works.
Next year we won't all be able to ride together. It is a little crowded trying to fit a family of 5 into a combine! Claire and Collin sit on the tool box behind the 2 seats and I hold Chloe on my lap. Claire is really too big to be sitting back there and I could tell she was getting uncomfortable. I may have to let Chloe sit in the back and let Claire sit with me or stand in front of me. I can't let Chloe ride alone yet, but probably next year. Collin and Claire do pretty good riding alone with Joel except that Claire talks too much! Collin usually falls asleep.

Jenny, I liked seeing the pics of the kids by the combine and Joel with the kids. I miss being around for harvest. It's been awhile since my 3 have ridden with Uncle Joel. Good memories! Eric and I have prayed for the harvest season for all of you. Take care, Karen
I can't get over how HUGE combines are! Glad your kids get to "go to work with Daddy"!
