I sent Claire to school yesterday not knowing if I should or not. Since she has already missed 2 days and she didn't have a fever, I sent her to school. The phone rang around 11:30 in the middle of playing Memory with Chloe and Collin. My heart sank when I saw the caller ID. It was the shool. Claire told her teacher she didn't feel good and ended up in the office. She had a low grade fever and she was coughing a lot. I said I would pick her up and got ready to head to the school. On the way out the door, I tried calling the Dr. I decided not to wait it out, but to make sure we were doing everything we could to get her better! They had an appointment at 1. That meant we needed to head into town instead of coming home. I figured we could pick up something to eat on the way.
I called Joel to fill him in on all this and remembered I was driving on a spare tire. I decided to head to the shed so he could put the fixed tire on. We had an hour to spare- right? Well. As I headed to the shed it seemed all the roads were closed! I went 3 different ways and there were road blocks. I was getting very frustrated. After driving about a 5 mile detour, we made it to the shed. Joel quickly put the tire on. Chloe is so scared of the air compressor! It is cute, but she is really terrified of that sound! Joel offered to take the other 2 home for lunch with him while I took Claire to the Dr. I thought since we were the first appointment after lunch, we should be in and out of there!
The Dr. decided to do a chest x-ray. This added like 2 hours to our Dr. visit! We are used to having them done, but it has been awhile. All was well with the x-ray. No pneumonia etc... Then it was on to Meijer to pick up a new antibiotic. I hope this one really works! We didn't get home until after 4. Joel wasn't too upset about missing a half day of work. It was really out of my control. It was really great to not have to drag Chloe and Collin around too. I would have been pulling my hair out by then! Claire was entertaining herself at the x-ray place by trying to cross the walkway without touching it. This including army crawling across the floor mat and leaning across to the carpet. I just pretended I didn't know her. :)
Claire was off to school this morning with no fever and 2 doses of antibiotic in her system. I hope she has a better day today!
